The CN Tower in Toronto has the second-highest public observation area in the world, second to Shanghai’s World Financial Center. The view is breathtaking, but not quite as breathtaking as the view from the EdgeWalk,

Toronto’s newest and most extreme attraction. It is a full-circle, hands-free walk on a five-foot ledge looping around the Tower at a height of 116 stories (or 1168 feet). It is extreme, but it is designed under international safety and security standards.

Groups of six will be led by experienced EdgeWalk guides. Each person will be harnessed and attached to an overhead rail. Potential walkers must meet certain height and weight restrictions and undergo strict safety training. Aside from the clothes you wear, eyeglasses are the only other thing allowed on your person on the walk. The entire experience costs $175 (Canadian) for 90 minutes (30 minutes of which is for the outdoor walk). Each walker will receive a video, photographs and a certificate. You also have access to other parts of the Tower including Sky Pod and a movie and motion theater ride. Walkers can enjoy the walk on the ledge or they can venture out a bit over the edge for a no-floor view of Toronto.

On our annual baseball trips, we always try to do something a little different along the way. We have tentatively set Toronto as our baseball destination for 2012. The EdgeWalk sounds like the perfect addition to our trip.

Breathe in the View and Sip in the Moment in Puerto Vallarta

Mindful drinking with an eye on wellness can mean ordering a zero-proof or low ABV cocktail instead of one that’s boozy and stirred, or slowly savoring one glass of wine instead of tossing back two or three. But sometimes, where you’re sipping a beverage can have just as much of a positive effect on your mind, body and spirit as what’s in your glass.
