I recently traveled to Miami, Florida, for meetings. I spent the week meeting with clients; and since I had meetings on Friday, I decided to stay on for a day or two and work on my tan. A bit of sunshine was in order to offer a healthy glow. I had the pleasure of staying at the ever-hip yet elegant Mondrian South Beach Hotel. Situated bayside on Miami Beach, it offers the eclectic vibe one seeks when visiting Miami.
The property itself is expansive yet not overpowering. There is an elegant lobby and entryway that feels like you are walking into an artful oasis, an escape from the mundane. The rooms are minimalistic with varying influences, such as colonial inspiration through the blue tiles on the backsplash of the kitchenette. My favorite in-room design element was the showerhead placed in the center of a waterfall chandelier.
Over the weekend, when it was time to unwind a bit from a busy week of meetings, I enjoyed the pool scene, gazing out at the vast array of sights, including fashionable individuals. If you stay at this property, be sure to bring your swimsuit A game because it is the place to be seen. The staff was courteous as I took time to enjoy a lovely Sauvignon Blanc while I sunbathed. They even placed fresh orchids in the ice bucket to add that special touch.
Sunday morning prior to departing, I enjoyed brunch. It was such a delectable feast! They had fresh sushi, carving stations, made-to-order omelet stations, and the brunch package I ordered included a bottle of Chloe prosecco. I highly recommend if you are staying to indulge and enjoy; just make a reservation first.
With the Big Game coming up this weekend, I thought it would be the perfect time to tell you a bit more about this fabulous property and its amenities!

Santiago is divided into comunas (districts) and then into barrios (neighborhoods). Founded in 1541 by Spain, Santiago suffered repeatedly from earthquakes, floods and civil disorder. It is no wonder its barrios are unique and distinct — some with steep terrain crawling up into the foothills of the Andes, some sitting close to the urban center and boasting busy cafés, music clubs, restaurants, food markets, and new residential and commercial high-rises.
