Next week I will use Airbnb for the first time on a business trip to Bermuda. The small resort island is completely sold out, and Airbnb seemed the only place with a few open apartments, so here I go! In the last year or so, Airbnb has pushed the Airbnb for Work arm of the business that caters to business travelers, ensuring travelers the host house has Wifi, is close to transportation, is quiet, etc. Bermuda might be an interesting place to try it out, but I am looking forward to going outside my comfort zone.
This experience comes at a perfect time, as our July issue feature article looks at Airbnb versus hotels, giving our readers insight into the pros and cons from a business traveler point of view. I will be able to put my two cents in soon as well. Stay tuned!
