Every Monday night, Double Nickel Brewing in Pennsauken, New Jersey, transforms into a hub of excitement and friendly competition as trivia lovers gather for an evening filled with fun, laughter and a bit of friendly rivalry. My hometown friends and I make it a point to frequent this event whenever we can, and it’s become a cherished tradition for our group. With each trivia round, we not only test our knowledge but also enjoy the lively atmosphere Double Nickel is known for.

One of the highlights of our trivia nights has been our success as a team, named The Screws. We’ve managed to snag the coveted $50 gift card prize on a few occasions, which always adds to the thrill of the competition. Our friendly rivals, Solid Chicken, have been a big part of our trivia journey as well, pushing us to bring our A-game each week. Inspired by their competitive spirit, we’ve decided to create matching t-shirts we plan to debut shortly.

In addition to the trivia challenges, Double Nickel recently added a delectable menu from The Dime, which elevated our experience even further. The food offerings have been a welcome addition, perfectly complementing the different beer selections. The seemingly endless taps offer a wide variety of beers — from IPAs to stouts, sours and even some seltzers, there is quite literally something for everyone. And if beer isn’t your preferred drink, they have a full bar with creative cocktails as well as a few wine selections.
