This summer I shared with you how I prepare for my Tuesday commute to GT’s headquarters from New York City to Yardley, Pennsylvania, to keep track of my goals. I have adapted to a healthier lifestyle this year, and a major key to successfully achieving this is preparation.

I did not travel much this year, and when I did, it was domestically and mainly for work; but I did find myself feeling anxious about what my meals would look like on a day full of meetings and/or events. There is only so much you can pack in a carry-on bag.

Whether you are an occasional traveler like me or a frequent business traveler, I am pretty sure you have found yourself in the same predicament. As I make travel plans for 2019, I look for airlines that offer the healthiest options, and as usual, Global Traveler has my back and highlighted them for me — what would I do without these updates?!

In our most recent eFlyer USA, assistant editor Erich Martin broke down a study put out by dietdetective.com on the airlines with the healthiest foods. This year, Alaska Airlines is at the top of the list, scoring only 404 calories per meal according to this study. Based on my goals, a 404-calorie breakfast/lunch is a well-balanced meal and meets my needs — super convenient to know!

You can learn more about this study on globaltravelerusa.com, and while you’re there, make sure to subscribe to our newsletters to get all these helpful tips!

Set Off on a Tour of Extraordinary Mechanical Clocks Around the World

It’s approaching 3 o’clock in the afternoon in Bern. Jutting slightly into view at the end of the uneven stone street in the Swiss city’s historic heart stands a medieval tower adorned with the famous 15th-century “time bell,” Zytglogge. A small gathering forms at the tower’s base as the clock prepares to announce the hour — an event heralded by the crowing of a golden rooster, music and a dance of mechanical figures that include an assortment of jolly bears.
