It behooves a city to have a lot of universities. Every summer, fall and winter, hordes of high school juniors and seniors take to the roads and skies with their parents to tour potential establishments of higher learning. We did just that this last weekend when we headed to Boston to check out the college scene.
In three days we took a gander at six universities including Boston College,
Boston University, University of Mass at Amherst, Bentley College, Northeastern and Holy Cross. This is not to mention the other 15 schools that are under consideration in other cities. Putting on over 250 miles on our little rental car, we made it in and around Boston, enjoying the sites when we could.
We stayed at the Harvard Club and enjoyed their signature restaurant — the Boston Room. Right around the corner from the Harvard Club, we had a fantastic meal at Island Hopper on Massachusetts Avenue, which specializes in Southeast Asian cuisine. Great smoothies!
We did a lot of walking, and flying was the best way to to jam in all we wanted to see and have a good time in Boston. Of course, we made the obligatory trip to Old Iron Sides while we where on the way to Logan — which has to be one of my favorite airports due to the proximity to the city.
