A native of Detroit, Michigan, Suzi Quatro burst onto the music scene in the late 1960s. As a trailblazer in rock and roll, Quatro travels the world, selling more than 50 million records worldwide.
Born into a musical family, Quatro started performing at an early age, first as part of her father’s jazz band and later with her sisters. After moving to England in the early 1970s, Quatro ventured on her own.
Quatro’s first single, “Rolling Stone,” reached No. 1 in Portugal, while her second, “Can the Can,” hit No. 1 in parts of Europe and Australia. By then she was on her way to being regarded as the Queen of Rock and Roll.
Not limiting herself to music, Quatro appeared as Leather Tuscadero on television’s Happy Days. Although the character was so popular a spinoff was offered to her, Quatro turned it down.
In the decades since, Quatro continued making music and performing all over the world. While the pandemic put a halt to her touring, Quatro’s creativity was not diminished.
She worked on an album with her son, wrote books, posted positive daily thoughts on social media and more. Despite it being a creative period, Quatro was anxious to get back on the road, where she feels most comfortable.
I had the pleasure of Zoom interviewing Quatro from her home in Germany. When not touring, she spends her time there; in England; or her native Detroit, a city still close to her heart.
In the first half of the interview, she discussed her career. Talk turned to travel in the second half, as Quatro named her favorite venues and cities, along with her bucket list for both. She also expressed her deep love for Detroit. Before it ended, knowing Quatro traveled thousands of miles, I asked for her best travel advice.
I thank Quatro for her time and consideration. I hope you enjoy the interview.

Jan 15, 2025Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa Review
Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is an award-winning resort on Coconut Road in Bonita Springs, Florida, on the Gulf Coast between Naples and Fort Myers. The property, with 26 acres of tropical landscaping, multiple water slides and numerous dining venues, is a beautiful resort. Last month, I brought my 13-year-old grandson to the property for two days of water-sliding in balmy mid-December weather.
