Welcome back to my Hamptons blog series! If you’ve been following along, you know our Fourth of July holiday weekend was already off to an amazing start. But hold on tight, because the second part of our weekend was even more special and unforgettable.
As the sun painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, my fiancé and I eagerly prepared for a truly magical experience: our engagement photo shoot on the beautiful beach in Amagansett!
From the moment our photographer greeted us with a warm smile, any reservations we had vanished. He had a knack for making us feel at ease, and soon enough, we found ourselves running along the shore line, hand in hand. My fiancé hesitated to step into the water for some playful shots; however, with a little coaxing and laughter, he eventually embraced the moment and, together, we ventured knee-deep into the gentle waves, creating the best memories.
After a fulfilling 2.5 hours of pictures, our appetites led us to one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Montauk: Duryea’s. Nestled beside Fort Pond Bay, this place offers a dining experience like no other. With its scenic views and famous lobster Cobb salad, it’s a must-visit for anyone exploring the Hamptons.
The next day, the Fouth of July, was a time for relaxation and exploration. We chose to sleep in and then ventured into the town of Montauk for a laid-back breakfast at Joni’s. The quaint eatery is known for its delicious smoothies and healthy breakfast sandwiches.
Our first stop of the day was to view potential wedding venues in the towns of Bridgehampton and Amagansett. Each venue had its unique charm, and we found ourselves imagining our special day at each location. The process of choosing the perfect setting for our wedding has been a heartwarming time but also an emotional rollercoaster. I am sure my fellow brides can relate!
As the day unfolded, we decided to indulge in some leisurely window-shopping in East Hampton’s quaint main town. I love going into BookHampton to choose my next beach read. East Hampton is my favorite main street in the Hamptons, with the best shopping and people-watching. I have spotted Emma Roberts and Liev Schreiber walking around in the past.
But the highlight of the evening awaited us as we returned to Surf Lodge for the second time to witness the Chainsmokers perform live. The energy was amazing and they closed out by playing my favorite song, “Closer.”
To end our holiday weekend, we went with friends to Scarpetta, a restaurant nestled in Gurney’s Resort and Spa, for an Italian dinner and to watch fireworks.
Stay tuned for the upcoming part of our Hamptons blog series, as I embark on an exciting girls’ weekend adventure. Until next time!

Nov 21, 2024Immerse in an Invigorating Thermal Journey at Scandinave Spa Whistler
The glittering green pines and burst of jasmine lake beyond almost made me forget about the aches in my legs that slowly developed after the promised hour-long hike ran into the third hour. And, oh, there were my hips, showing up to remind me I was no longer in my 20s. I didn’t mind, though, because the vision that surrounded me during our guided walk through Garibaldi Park to Cheakamus Lake in Whistler, British Columbia, with Mountain Skills Academy and Adventures proved worthy of a thousand postcards.

Remarkable Medellín
Visiting Medellín in Colombia: The Country of Beauty is like stepping into a fantastic story — literally, as the city in the Western Colombian Andes region inspired Disney’s Encanto. Here, valleys, the world’s tallest palms, vibrant communities, colorful houses, garden-like balconies and more prove reality is more picturesque than anything on film. And it’s especially more tempting following Medellín’s remarkable transformation, shedding its troubled past and reawakening as a city of innovation, art, cultural richness, modern infrastructure, thriving tourism and resiliency.
