This blog is Part One of my series about summers in the Hamptons, covering Fourth of July weekend in Amagansett.
Summers in the Hamptons have become synonymous with relaxation, luxury and indulgence. As city dwellers, my fiancé and I eagerly anticipate our annual escape to this enchanting destination.
Upon arriving in Amagansett Friday afternoon, our first order of business is always a visit to Round Swamp Farm in Montauk. This culinary gem — I refer to it as the Erewhon of the East Coast — offers a delightful selection of baked goods and pre-made food. Personally, I can never resist the delectable chicken dumplings and crispy chicken fingers with honey mustard. With provisions in hand, we eagerly begin our beachside adventures.
After checking into our hotel and settling in, we wasted no time heading straight to the beach with a little picnic of the flavors of Round Swamp Farm.
As the day transitioned into golden hour, we made our way to Montauket, a popular spot known for sunset views and refreshing drinks.
To kick-start Saturday, we headed to the renowned Barry’s Bootcamp in Wainscott, where a high-intensity workout awaited. The invigorating session left us feeling ready to conquer the day!
With our endorphins pumping and our appetites boosted, we set off in search of a delicious to-go breakfast at Goldberg’s, an iconic establishment known for bagels and breakfast sandwiches. My favorite choice is the everything bagel with lox spread.
Afterward, we spent a few hours on the beach to relax before we had to get ready for dinner at Surf Lodge with friends. Surf Lodge is a must-visit destination for locals and visitors alike. With its lively atmosphere and talented performers, it is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy live music. On this particular evening, we were fortunate to have SAINt JHN grace the stage, thrilling us with an unforgettable performance of my favorite song, “Roses.”
Returning to our hotel, we ended the night by strolling along the moonlit beach.
Stay tuned for Part Two of the second half of the holiday weekend with our Hamptons escapades and explore the rest of the series to come. Until next time!
