Who doesn’t love a sunset? Summer showers us with a variety of bright orange and pink gradient skies almost every day. Besides being an amazing source of Vitamin D, the sun(set) — see what I did there? — is also good for our health in different ways:

— Helps slow down our perception of time
— Helps us feel more energized
— Helps us be more appreciative and content with life

It has been a little over a year since we left New York City, and aside from missing my family, friends and a more diverse community, I am thankful to not have been living there through whatever it is that 2020 has been so far. The serenity and peace being in a slower-paced environment brought into my life is unmatched.

While we don’t have a lot of windows in our apartment and we live on the second floor, one of my favorite corners is by our living room window, where we have a bunch of plants and enjoy nice sunsets.

At times I catch a glimpse of the sun starting to set through the blinds and stop whatever I’m doing to just appreciate the beauty Mother Nature provides. I personally find it to be such a therapeutic time of the day. Let’s not even get started on what a beach sunset makes me feel — I’ll save that for the next entry, ha!
