My mom and I recently enjoyed a mother-daughter day, visiting Asbury Park, New Jersey, with a stop at the Jackson Premium Outlets on the return.
We began our daytrip with breakfast at Purple Glaze Donuts. Located a couple miles from the beach, the donut shop sells a variety of classic and unique flavors, made to order. My mom opted for one with chocolate icing, peanuts and caramel drizzle. I ordered one of the daily specials with vanilla icing, peanut butter chips and raspberry drizzle. The spot is a must if you’re in Asbury Park!
Despite the extreme heat, we took a stroll around the boardwalk to do some window shopping at the local stores. To escape the heat and the crowds, we had an early lunch at The Robinson Ale House. We split calamari and a chicken sandwich with zucchini fries while enjoying the air conditioning.
We ended with a quick shopping stop at the Jackson Premium Outlets. While it wasn’t a thorough shopping trip, we each picked up a couple items to add to our closets.
Donuts, boardwalk time and shopping equal a perfect mother-daughter day, in my opinion!
