Birthdays look a little different for so many this year. So far, while in quarantine, my dad’s birthday came and went, as has my fiancé’s. I participated in a birthday parade last weekend for another friend, and tomorrow and in a few weeks, two more friends, who live in Connecticut, will celebrate quarantine birthdays. My mom will celebrate both Mother’s Day and her upcoming birthday in quarantine as well, since the lockdown has been extended in Pennsylvania until June 4.

To send a little cheer to my friends out of state, I started looking around for dessert delivery options. I’d heard about Wicked Good Cupcakes on Shark Tank a while ago, and when it popped up on Google, it was a reminder of a delicious birthday option I could send their way. While the shipment wouldn’t be ready in time for this weekend’s birthday (while typically available in a much quicker turnaround time, increased demand during the COVID-19 pandemic has caused delays), it would be available for the birthday later in the month. I sent two cupcake jars, selecting from a variety of flavors. I’ll be interested to hear how they taste in a few weeks!

For the upcoming birthday, at a loss for a quick turnaround, I opened Door Dash and checked out the dessert delivery options available in her town. A specialty donut shop, Donut Crazy, popped up as an option, so I plan on placing an order for a no-contact delivery tomorrow morning to surprise my friend with a sweet morning birthday treat.

Now, I just have to keep them from reading this blog!
