In my last blog I wrote about the upcoming whereverfamily.com Wherever Awards on Sept. 23, something we are all looking forward to, but the month of September has also presented lots more opportunities for the team to see some different destinations.
This past weekend I got the chance to spend a weekend in Columbia, South Carolina, to see some friends and watch the big college football game between University of South Carolina and University of Alabama. Alabama won the game, as expected, but it was amazing to see the atmosphere and environment of a game weekend there. This came at the dismay of Bill Lodzinski, director of sales, who attended USC and is a die-hard Gamecocks fan.
Next up for me is a trip to Miami, Naples and Tampa Bay this Wednesday for some business meetings with Bill. The entire trip should be a great time, but what I’m looking forward to the most is the drive from West Miami to Naples through the Everglades. Bill lived in Florida for quite a bit and has lots to say about the famous Tamiami Trail, so I’m expecting to see lots of gators and will provide some photos to recap the trip in my next blog. I also have a soft spot for Naples given I grew up visiting my grandparents on Marco Island, just a quick, 30-minute drive away.
There is always someone on the go here at Global Traveler, and this month is no different — more updates to come!
