Travel is back, and there is no going back now. My upcoming trip is to one of the smallest national parks in the United States, Saguaro National Park. I have an indescribable obsession with desertscapes, and I am going to see some of the largest cacti in the country.

In my preparation for this trip, I have done some reading. The park is divided into two parts, and Tucson Mountain District is touted as the spot for the best sunset views. This is a park you can explore in designated areas on foot, bicycle and in your car. There are two scenic drives you can enjoy: Saguaro National Park East is a paved, eight-mile, one-way loop, and the drive in Saguaro National Park West has several routes. These are open from 7 a.m. to sundown.

I learned the tallest saguaro recorded was 78 feet tall, but it fell in 1986. There is currently no recognized cactus as the tallest, but there is a particular area of the park, Loma Verde Loop, where you can find impressive saguaros. Saguaros are known to bloom April to June, so I am excited as I’ll be going at the start of this period.

We’ll stay in Tucson, which we all know has its own beautiful gems that I cannot wait to explore. More to come!

Do you have any recommendations for Tucson?

Costa Rica Lures with Modern Amenities, Rural Charm and a Simple Way of Life

When I first visited Costa Rica, I was ostensibly there for business. But after a few days in this tropical paradise, my trip started to feel more like a vacation than work. This isn’t to say I neglected my obligations, rather that my work meetings felt more pleasurable (and productive) than usual. The gorgeous jungle landscape combined with the pura vida lifestyle is a simply infectious combination, and it’s unsurprising the nation consistently ranks as the most popular tourist destination in Central America.
