News, tidbits and updates about the royal wedding are everywhere you look! I watch Good Morning America as I get ready in the morning, and yesterday morning the show dedicated an entire segment to Catherine Middleton’s local pub owner, who was invited to the nuptials. It’s inescapable; the event has captured worldwide fascination.
I’ve noticed a travel trend developing around the wedding, as I am inundated with information about specially crafted travel packages commemorating the day – April 29, 2011, for any of you living under the proverbial rock.
I’m interested to know: Are you traveling to London for the celebration? Do you know anyone who is? Are you caught up in the royal hoopla? My study abroad semester in London coincided with Prince Charles and Camilla’s 2005 wedding, but I was out of town that weekend, so I missed out on much of the celebration.
If you plan on staying stateside for the “wedding of the year, decade, century,” here are two packages to consider. I’m sure more will come in the following weeks.

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is an award-winning resort on Coconut Road in Bonita Springs, Florida, on the Gulf Coast between Naples and Fort Myers. The property, with 26 acres of tropical landscaping, multiple water slides and numerous dining venues, is a beautiful resort. Last month, I brought my 13-year-old grandson to the property for two days of water-sliding in balmy mid-December weather.
