Rainy Day Favorites

As I’m writing this blog, I am listening to rain hit the window, and it’s making me think of my favorite rainy day activities. Like most people, I would prefer not to leave the house and just spend the day under a blanket watching a movie, TV show or reading a good book. With spring and summer rainstorms around the corner and possibly ruining some of your weekend plans, I thought this would be a perfect time to recommend some good TV shows, movies and books I’ve watched and read recently to help keep you entertained during these rainy days.

Let’s start with TV shows. I watch a variety of TV, so I feel like I have some good recommendations. Whether you like suspense, reality, sitcom or more, there will be something in this list for you:

  • Paradise (Hulu)
  • Summer House (Peacock)
  • The Traitors (Peacock)
  • Long Bright River (Peacock)
  • Abbott Elementary (ABC, Hulu, Max)
  • Running Point (Netflix)

Now, moving to movies. I don’t claim to be a movie expert, but I have seen a lot of movies, so here are some recommendations, new and old:

  • Wicked (Peacock)
  • A Real Pain (Hulu)
  • About Time (Netflix)
  • Me Before You (Prime Video)
  • Captain America: Brave New World (in theaters)

Lastly, books. A couple months ago I wrote a blog with book recommendations, but, since then I’ve read a couple books I could not put down, so I wanted to share those, too. These don’t have to just be on your rainy day lists but will also be perfect for summer trips and reading by the water:

  • The Crash by Freida McFadden
  • Love, Mom by Iliana Xander
  • The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden
  • Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins (for all my Hunger Games franchise fans)
