Over the weekend my family and I went to the Phillies game on Saturday. During the day we were a little nervous the game was going to be cancelled because the weather wasn’t looking that great. It was raining and storming a little, but eventually it cleared up and we were able to attend. Thankfully, the storm relieved some of the heat and humidity that has been around the past couple weeks, and it was actually a beautiful night for some baseball.

We got to the game a little bit before it started so we could get something to eat and get to our seats. My brother Andrew and I got some crab fries and chicken fingers from Chickie’s & Pete’s. Every time I go to a Phillies game, I have to get crab fries; they are my favorite, and I only get them when I go to a sporting event.

Our seats were along the third base line, so we had to be alert for foul balls. Within the first five minutes of the game, a foul ball landed a couple seats down from us. There were a couple more hit our way but none close enough for us to catch.

We got to see a good game. The Phillies were playing well almost the whole game. One inning there were back-to-back home runs, which was exciting. Some players had good plays in the field; and although they weren’t home runs, there were some good hits into the field.

Overall, the game was fun: The weather felt like we were at a mid-October game, and the Phillies won 7–0. I hope to get back to another game before the season is over.
