I’m writing today while sitting in an open-air villa overlooking Mahoe Bay on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. It’s been about 10 years since I’ve been to the BVI, and all I can say is: We got it right! I’ve dipped my toes into the white-sand beaches on the shores of dozens of Caribbean islands. Among my favorites: St Barts, St. John and a tiny atoll off the coast of Belize known as Cayo Espanto. During previous visits to Virgin Gorda, I’ve experienced the quiet elegance of Biras Creek and the sailing-oriented Bitter End Yacht Club. This time, I’m at Villa Aquamare, an elegantly exclusive retreat. I’ve found paradise.
