This summer has been busy with business and leisure trips, but somehow I’ve managed to try out different bars and restaurants with friends. One of the new places is Nektar — a wine, beer and whiskey bar located on West Mechanic Street in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
I visited New Hope for the first time four summers ago and fell in love with the vibe and peaceful scenery — yes, I said peaceful! Although its main streets are super busy during the summer, nothing compares to the rushed service you receive anywhere in New York City.
The back of the restaurant was full, so we opted to sit by the bar. We immediately noticed they offered a variety of flights (Champagne, Rosé, white, red and whiskey) and couldn’t say no to that. I went for the Rosé flight; the fruity and citrus notes made that hot summer evening feel like an early autumn one.
Our server shared that the bar has been recognized by Wine Spectator magazine for its large-scale selection of attentively curated wines. They have an 18-bottle cruvinet.
The food doesn’t fall behind! I highly recommend you try the amazing Poké bowl, as well as the meatball slider.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting, stop in!

Tucked in the heart of Tuscany near the birthplace of da Vinci, Villa Petriolo is a luxurious countryside escape that blends historic restoration with modern elegance. A Small Luxury Hotels of the World member, the estate’s meticulous revival of a centuries-old villa and its surrounding properties transformed it into a haven of elegant design, hyperlocal cuisine and postcard-worthy moments. The seamless integration of its organic, regenerative agriculture revival, mimicking the once-bustling production of the property, influences its award-winning cuisine, wine production, spa products and amenities found throughout. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a single detail here that doesn’t speak to Villa Petriolo’s dedication to both the authentic past and hopeful future.
