As I mentioned before, I started working with this wonderful team in September, and while planning our 2020 strategy, I made my first work trip to Los Cabos.
Here’s my experience at the Viceroy Los Cabos resort:
As soon as I walked off the airplane, someone was waiting to take me to the hotel; I enjoyed the 40-minute ride in a spacious van with air conditioning, WiFi, fresh water and music of my choice.
Arriving at the hotel, they took care of my luggage and greeted me with a refresher called the Discovery Cocktail. I don’t know how to describe the flavor; it was like the perfect mix between sweet and salty and refreshing.
I was assigned a partial ocean-view king room that looked like a dream come true from inside out; the view was amazing. A few of the characteristics of the room were a king-sized bed, WiFi, LED smart TV, Nespresso machine with complimentary coffee, automated sheers and black-out curtains, and my room was powered with Alexa, which I considered a plus.
After leaving my luggage and changing clothes, I went for something to eat at Casero Restaurant, the main restaurant with a homestyle Mexican kitchen, and let me tell you, the guacamole is a must!
After a delicious lunch, I gave myself a tour around the hotel.
To get to the beach you have to walk by the water mirrors; the famous restaurant, Nido; and, after that, go down through snail roads, where you’ll find the gym, the spa and, at the end, the play room. This last one, perfect for the whole family, kids or adults, is where you can go and rest a little bit in the sun while you enjoy playing pool, boardgames or even video games. You’ll find the beach club a few steps from the play room, with two mid-warm pools, a beach bar called Nidito (since it has the same structure as the restaurant and both represent a bird nest) and beach beds to enjoy the sun and the water.
The beach can’t be more perfect; the sand color is an astonishing white that makes a perfect contrast with the turquoise sea. From the beach club to touching the sea is a little distant.
I had the chance to enjoy all three restaurants: Casero, which I already mentioned; Cielomar Rooftop, with a menu based on fresh seafood, flame-grilled fare and a wood-fired pizza oven; and the most famous restaurant, Nido, which focuses on Japanese cuisine. I also got to enjoy Nidito, the beach bar, and Otro, the main bar of the hotel.
All I can say is that for my first work trip, Viceroy Los Cabos provided the best attention all the time and gave me the best experience.
