Over the weekend I was able to spend some time with my immediate family and friends when we went to visit my grandmother at Ann’s Choice, a retirement home in the area where she lives.
We arrived early to have some time to talk and see how my grandmother is doing. She recently fell and is having a few problems with mobility. She was happy we were all able to come see her and have brunch.
Our close neighbors, the Kripps, came with us for the event, as they are practically family at this point. We walked the long hallway to the dining room, and lo and behold, they had saved a special room for us to eat in — what a treat!
So not only were we able to enjoy a meal together, but we were also able to hear each other well and not yell over a crowd.
The meal included items I had never even tried before — chipped beef, flounder stuffed with crab — it was pretty interesting!
