I was fortunate to grow up going to my family house in Montauk, New York. I’ve traveled to several places around the world, but nothing compares to the peace morning in Montauk brings.
My mornings start early, typically getting up around 5 a.m. My first stop is a secluded beach to watch the sunrise. Aside from the occasional fisherman, there is no one else there. The natural light in Montauk is like nothing you’ve ever seen. The light is so clear and golden, it has attracted famous artists and painters worldwide, and the sand is always sparkling. After the sun rises, I walk on the beach and take pictures.
My next stop is Montauk Bake Shop, famous for homemade jelly donuts. I always get an iced latte and a donut. I try to get there by 6:15 a.m.; otherwise, the line is already out the door.
Around 10 a.m., I go to Montauk Salt Cave where I relax for an hour, get rejuvenated, energized and ready for the day ahead!
