Late March I made my way to Mexico City for Latin America’s largest tourism event, Tianguis Turistico. This was the first time in the event’s history that it was held in CDMX (as the locals like to call Mexico City). For anyone in travel, this is the not-to-be-missed event.
The event was a fabulous showcase of Mexico’s key tourism destinations presented not only by the government bodies in charge of tourism but also everything across the board in hospitality. This included destination management companies (DMCs), convention bureaus (CVBs), distilleries, museums, tour operators and hotels, of course. It made for a very busy event meeting clients and prospective clients.
As expected, it was a colorful and vibrant event putting its best foot forward with displays of regional folklore music and dance, food and unique artisanal handicrafts.
