Lightscape San Diego

Nov 22, 2023

The happiest time of year, is it not? ’Tis the season for light shows! You with me?

We decided to have an adventurous night this weekend and headed to San Diego for two things we love: light shows in botanical gardens and — this next one you’re going to be a little surprised by — biriyani. Yes, Sid loves going to San Diego for biryani; never thought you’d hear that, now did you? Well, if you know about Charminar, you’re not surprised, but for the rest of you, I recommend you pay a visit and find out for yourself.

Now for the entertainment part of the night. I am so in love with these night events giving you the opportunity to be out and about, enjoying some nature and good company. It’s always enchanting: the crisp air of the night, fresh air of all the plants surrounding you, and glow of lights from the various installations for a very relaxing night with apple cider.

#lightscapesandiego did a fantastic job. It was my first time to San Diego Botanic Garden, so what a great first-time visit. They had a set of various installations throughout the garden, each transporting you away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday grind. My favorite installations, of course, I took pictures of; enjoy:

My ultimate favorite was this one because the effect of the fiber optics resulted in almost floating jellies — ethereal.San Diego

Second-favorite was the floating poppies because #Californiaflower.San Diego

I also really enjoyed the giant lotus installation.San Diego

There are really awesome transitional installations, too, for great IG times!San Diego San Diego

Before the end of the show, there was a really cool lightshow.

What light shows will you be checking out this season?
