Jenniffer Weigel’s Show

by John Wroblewski

Jan 19, 2025

I grew up watching Tim Weigel report sports on Chicago television. Sadly, Weigel died at 56 from a brain tumor.

Weigel’s oldest daughter, Jenniffer, followed his path into media and entertainment. Several years after her father’s death, Jenniffer published her first book, Stay Tuned; Conversations With Dad From the Other Side, a book about making a spiritual connection with her late father. It’s one of my favorite books. It’s enlightening and thought-provoking without being preachy as Jenniffer searches for answers and signs. Since then, Jenniffer wrote three more books continuing her spiritual journey, all of which are on my book shelf.

Last night I attended I’m Spiritual, Dammit!, Jenniffer’s show named after her second book. The show started with Jenniffer discussing her continuing journey accompanied by fascinating slides. Her delivery was pure Jenniffer, straightforward sprinkled with just enough humor. Although she made a compelling case by demonstrating the many signs she receives, she never tried selling anyone on anything, except to keep an open mind.Jenniffer WeigelJenniffer Weigel

The last part of the show featured medium Cindy Cook delivering messages from beyond to several audience members. Although I have less knowledge, experience and (honestly) faith in this area, I am open-minded with an interest in learning more. Cook made impressive connections with several audience members, which furthered my curiosity.Jenniffer WeigelJenniffer Weigel

That really is what I take from Jenniffer’s platform. Are signs mere coincidence or do we find them because we are looking? I don’t have answers, but like Jenniffer and with her help, I am searching.Jenniffer Weigel

I’m Spiritual, Dammit! was held at the beautiful Wayfarer Theaters in Highland Park, north of Chicago. Opened by Steve Sarowitz in 2023, Wayfarer Theaters is a multi-use space housing five screens. Sarowitz’s goal is to combine his personal values with his business projects by making Wayfarer Theaters a place of entertainment, respect and unity.Brown Palace Hotel

Find Inner Peace in India, the Birthplace of Yoga

How far would you travel in pursuit of inner peace? Though the wellness industry has grown in popularity for quite a while, he business skyrocketed post-pandemic, with more and more travelers booking yoga retreats in the name of serenity, spirituality and, of course, self-care. When I decided it was zen I sought, I figured I should travel to its very birthplace: India. Though the idea of traveling in India initially felt more exciting than relaxing, I found the contrast between the bustling activity outside and the quiet reflection of my yoga practice to be an intoxicating combination.
