We recently moved from Virginia to the Philadelphia area, my hometown, and we are thrilled to be back. Getting reacquainted with the area has been fun, and I feel lucky to be back in the swing with my friends and family.

A neighborhood-sized group of us went for a walk with our dogs along the Schuylkill River Trail from Conshohocken to Manayunk. On the way back, we stopped at Conshohocken Brewing Company, where dogs are always welcome. Conshohocken Brewing Company is a craft brewery that has high-quality beers with an industrial spirit reminiscent of the history of the area. The Schuylkill River Trail is a multi-use trail in southeastern Pennsylvania with about 60 miles of trails along the Schuylkill River and hopes for a total of 130 miles in length … definitely worth taking a hike!

Because everything always revolves around food, I met some friends at White Dog Café, a casual restaurant that offers environmentally sustainable and award-winning food. Outside of the inviting atmosphere and fabulous food, the uniqueness of White Dog is the artwork — pictures of dogs and dog statues are everywhere!

Next time you’re visiting the Philadelphia area, consider taking a hike and visiting some of the great restaurants and craft breweries around town, and don’t hesitate to bring your dog!
