I try my best to offer tips in this blog, so today I say “three cheers for the Audi Roadside Assistance!” I have been running around with my sales staff blitzing our clients and updating them on Global Traveler, as well as filling them in on our fantastic app available at the App Store! As anyone who has been driving around the Northeastern United States can tell you, the roads are treacherous. The potholes have grown on top of potholes, and somewhere (and I have hit many) I had a direct slammer to my front right tire. I did not even know the tire had been damaged until Saturday morning when I noticed a golf ball-sized bubble on the sidewall. Thanks to Audi, my A8L has a full spare tire, and with a quick call to the Audi Roadside Service, the tire was changed while I was catching up on some work here at WHQ. I would have changed it myself, but there is a tricky setting you have to change on the electrical control panel before you can jack the car. I was walked through this with the service tech, and I am now up to speed for future issues! Speaking of our app, it’s going like hotcakes, and I think this has to be a result of the direct association GT has with the App Store and the Apple Store/Itunes. I see others taking another less-exposed route with their digital editions . . . but why? Why not get your app listed on the most successful platform that has changed the music industry and is now helping GT reach out to more readers? Oh, and guess what — soon Global Traveler will be available for the Droid Platform! Smart phone-enabled websites are not the same as an app and are cumbersome to use. So why make your product more difficult? This week I am running around on my new tire! Then I am in the air to Florida to see some people who want to know more about GT and our cutting edge technological achievements! — Fran Gallagher, publisher and CEO

Nov 21, 2024Immerse in an Invigorating Thermal Journey at Scandinave Spa Whistler
The glittering green pines and burst of jasmine lake beyond almost made me forget about the aches in my legs that slowly developed after the promised hour-long hike ran into the third hour. And, oh, there were my hips, showing up to remind me I was no longer in my 20s. I didn’t mind, though, because the vision that surrounded me during our guided walk through Garibaldi Park to Cheakamus Lake in Whistler, British Columbia, with Mountain Skills Academy and Adventures proved worthy of a thousand postcards.

Remarkable Medellín
Visiting Medellín in Colombia: The Country of Beauty is like stepping into a fantastic story — literally, as the city in the Western Colombian Andes region inspired Disney’s Encanto. Here, valleys, the world’s tallest palms, vibrant communities, colorful houses, garden-like balconies and more prove reality is more picturesque than anything on film. And it’s especially more tempting following Medellín’s remarkable transformation, shedding its troubled past and reawakening as a city of innovation, art, cultural richness, modern infrastructure, thriving tourism and resiliency.
