Hello Kitty Café

by Maria Angeles

Sep 16, 2022

Calling Japanophiles! Did you have one of those pencil boxes with Sanrio characters strewn all over it? They even came with a tiny little lock and an equally tiny key to keep your school supplies safe. I talked my parents into buying me one of those, and I lost that key within the first week. My home isn’t a full-on Hello Kitty experience, but I like to sprinkle my life with it as much as I can. Today we are talking the Hello Kitty Café.

If you’re a fan of the Sanrio franchise, you already know a location opened at The Park MGM Grand in Las Vegas. You’re going to find the world of Hello Kitty and enjoy refreshments and all the Instagrammable sweet delights. There’s a second location at Fashion Show Las Vegas where they also serve soft-serve ice cream.

If you’re not up for a trip to Vegas just for Hello Kitty but you find yourself in Southern California, you are in luck. The Irvine Spectrum is home to the first Hello Kitty Café. This location offers a casual and fun experience at the café where you’ll find freshly baked goods and refreshments. There is a full afternoon experience you can also enjoy if you make reservations at Grand Café. There are even cocktails during the evening hours. This last part is something I’ve been putting off for a special occasion, so I will have to report back.
