As those here at Global Traveler headquarters know, my Thursday night ritual is a trip to Tela’s Market & Kitchen in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia. If you ever find yourself in the neighborhood on any night, make sure to stop by to enjoy delicious pizzas, sandwiches, apps and drinks. You can also stop in to pick up drinks and snacks to go from the market.
The reason Tela’s has made it into my weekly routine is “neighborhood night” in Fairmount. On Thursday (and every weekday), you can come here to enjoy happy hour deals until 7 p.m., but on Friday junior you can find an all-night $30 pizza and wine deal … and not just any pizza, either. My favorite pepperoni pizza with a hot honey drizzle is to die for, along with your choice of a bottle of the white or red house wine.
Not only is this a great deal, but the atmosphere at Tela’s makes for a cute but casual way to catch up with friends at the end of the week and ahead of your busy weekend. My boyfriend and I love to come here after a long week, and my sister and I also enjoy stopping in to catch up and chat (most recently we also got the arancini and some cocktails to start, which were delicious.) And my roommate and our friends who also live in Fairmount love to meet here, as it’s right between our apartments.
I love trying local restaurants like this and am glad I found a favorite in Tela’s. If you’re ever in the area, make sure to stop by — and say hi to me, as you can probably find me there!
