In what seemed like the blink of an eye, the witches and goblins have gone to make room for elves and reindeer. I look forward to celebrating Thanksgiving, which has become the forgotten holiday. There are many craft bazaars at churches and community centers in Bucks County over the coming weeks in preparation for the holiday season. This time of year always brings a sense of nostalgia for me. I long for the days of doing arts and crafts in elementary school. My mother has a background in art, so I have a partner in crafty crime to attend shows and create holiday decorations.

For craft ideas I refer to Martha Stewart and HGTV. Their websites have projects ranging from those you can do with children to those aimed at more skilled artists. Design Sponge is great for do-it-yourself projects and general design inspiration. Perhaps one of my favorite websites to browse is Etsy. Purchase one or more of their handmade and vintage items, or draw inspiration for a project of your own. Their blog is a great way to find out about local events. For those of you in the Los Angeles area, tonight Etsy is hosting a craft night at the Craft and Folk Art Museum.
