This past Saturday it was my honor to attend the sixth annual Red & White Ball hosted by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Eastern Pennsylvania.
For the past six years, LLS has hosted this amazing event and remarkably raised millions of dollars through live and silent auctions, donations and ticket sales to directly support and fund groundbreaking research to find cures for cancer and improve the quality of life of patients and their families as stated in its mission statement. It truly is a remarkable job!
Besides spending a lovely night with my family and colleagues, I must say the highlight was hearing Loriana Hernandez-Aldama share her story as she accepted the 2019 Mission Honoree Award. Her strength and courageous attitude were truly inspiring and motivational. I have to admit her beautiful son walking on stage made my eyes teary.
This year, the winner of the raffle (tickets were only $100) took home a brand-new 2019 Audi Q5 2.0 TFSI. LLS received all proceeds from the tickets sales, as this vehicle was handsomely donated.
