It has been a great year of trips for me and it doesn’t appear to be stopping. As I head into the fall and winter months, I look at my calendar and see several trips on the docket.
In September, I have a trip to Houston with my brother-in-law Scott and my nephew Matt. This is our annual trip to see the Cubs play in Houston. We will need to modify this trip in 2013, as the Astros move into the American League and they will not be hosting the Cubs every year.
Later in September, my family is going to visit my niece Samantha at the University of Iowa. Of course, we will also tailgate at a Hawkeyes game.
Staying with the college football theme, I have a “to be determined” date trip to the University of Michigan with my friends Jim and Cuzz. This is also an annual trip and I am proud to say I am 5-1 rooting for the “maize and blue” of Michigan.
Some friends of mine run a horror convention in Cincinnati and I will finally attend my first event there in November. I will also meet up with an old high school bud. This trip promises to be an overload of reminiscing.
Late in the year, once again I join Scott and Matt on a trip to Houston, but this time we will be seeing a Houston Texans football game. We have seen plenty of exciting Texans’ games in the past, but big things are predicted for the team this year.
While I am not looking forward to summer turning into fall turning into winter, at least I have several trips to get me through the transition into the cold months. Then I really need to make a few trips during the winter.
