On my recent trip to Italy, we spent time exploring the charming village of Bellagio on Lake Como. Our hotel was a short walk from the ferry stop. The ferry ride to Bellagio was short and the tickets were inexpensive, so it made for a perfect afternoon activity.
Popular among tourists, there are plenty of shops and restaurants along the waterfront street and winding alleys of Bellagio. We visited on two different days. The first time we only had about an hour to explore before dinner. The next time we had the entire afternoon available to wander.
During our second, longer visit, I took the opportunity to purchase some unique gifts to bring home, including Christmas ornaments, handmade wooden toys and scarves. The boutiques feature souvenirs, leather goods, clothing, jewelry and more. We enjoyed lunch at one of the waterfront restaurants before catching the ferry back to our hotel. I started with an Aperol spritz and indulged in osso bucco with vegetables on the side.
We enjoyed the picturesque ferry ride across the lake, taking in the beautiful surroundings from the water.
