Dinner at Indochine

A few weekends ago I joined some friends for a nice dinner at Indochine, a Thai and Southeast Asian restaurant in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. I had heard great things about the restaurant and wanted to try the food for a long time but never got around to actually going. After one of my friends suggested the restaurant, I was eager to go.

Indochine

Seating is limited and the space is rather intimate, with warm lighting and comfortable booths scattered throughout. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the building, allowing diners to look out the windows and see down one of the busy streets of Jacksonville.

We all ordered cocktails to start the evening. I ordered a gin and elderflower drink, and another friend ordered a margarita. One friend needed some caffeine and opted for some Thai tea, which I took a sip of and found to be interesting and rather tasty.

Indochine

For my main meal, I ordered Pad See Ew, a rice noodle dish with egg, broccoli, carrot and chicken in a sweet soy sauce. I was torn between this dish and Pad Thai (which is my go-to); but since I had eaten Pad Thai the weekend before, I decided to try something different. I cleared my plate, despite the portion being more than generous, as it was so good.

I plan to return to Indochine, too, as the staff was more than friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious and well worth the price. For those in Jacksonville looking to enjoy a dinner at Indochine, however, I recommend making a reservation, as the popular eatery fills up
