Last weekend my friends and I went out in the afternoon to the annual Dancin’ in the Street in Atlantic Beach, Florida. I had heard about this event for many years but had never been myself, so this was my first time attending.

Free to enter, this event was filled with stalls selling handmade and local goods, food stalls and trucks, drink tents, and several stages with various bands. We lucked out with the weather, as it was supposed to be upwards of 90 degrees; however, the clouds protected us from the intense heat, and being just a few meters from the beach, we had frequent gusts of wind to keep us cool.

Many attendees wear swimsuits, jean shorts or beachwear of some sort while enjoying pizza, burgers, empanadas and fries. A cold Blue Moon beer was the perfect way to cool down in the heat. We ventured around to the difference stages to enjoy the different music and perused the stalls to see the different items being sold, from handmade candles to customizable hats to home décor.

As the sun began to set, we stopped by the food truck area to eat before heading to a place called the Lemon Bar, where a special silent disco was being held for a few hours. It was a great day and night.
