Fever is changing the live music scene, or should I say it is illuminating it. Launched in 2020, Candlelight Concerts have delighted audiences in more than 80 cities worldwide, including my hometown, Chicago.

Illuminated by candlelight and performed by live musicians, concerts take place in the most iconic venues. Churches, libraries and mansions hosted Candlelight Concerts, and more venues are coming. The concerts feature music of composers such as Beethoven, Mozart and Vivaldi but also contemporary artists like the Beatles, Aretha Franklin and Sam Cooke.

Already hosting conventional classical music concerts, entertainment discovery platform Fever sought to make the experience more accessible by creating more affordable concerts. In existence for only five years, Fever created wonderful musical experiences for millions worldwide.

Last year, Mozart’s Best Works was at Artifact Events, located in the heart of Chicago’s historic Ravenswood neighborhood. Artifact Events is “where art meets experience.” Classical and industrial yet comfortable and modern, Artifact Events is great for weddings and other events but perfect for Candlelight Concerts. Relics from the antique business previously in the space provide a unique touch. More Candlelight Concerts will be held at Artifact Events, including Tribute to Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone and the Divas of Soul; Vivaldi Concert and Opera Favorites; and Beethoven’s Best Works.

Other Chicago venues announced for future Candlelight Concert series are the Epiphany Center for the Arts, Ace Hotel Chicago and Salvage One. Chicagoans will experience wonderful music in beautiful venues at least through the summer.

Candlelight Concerts are great events for couples or a group of friends. We are already planning on attending a couple of upcoming shows, but I am hoping for a Billy Joel Candlelight Concert. Until then, however, I will enjoy other Candlelight Concerts.
