Miami’s Brickell section is a beautiful location to enjoy sports, food and shopping. I recently stayed at SLS Brickell Miami, great for a spontaneous romantic getaway. It features a fully equipped gym, a rooftop pool and a spa. The hotel has a unique theme, darkly lit yet highly artistic. I was amazed not only by the attentive customer service but also by the comfort of the bed and the size of the balcony most rooms had, overlooking the skyline of Miami.
SLS Brickell Miami would be a great spot to consider staying with your significant other for the upcoming Art Basel weekend, right around the corner. However, it’s not just the hotel that matters but also the location. SLS checks both boxes.
One of my favorite Miami gyms, sweat 440, offers an excellent workout for those visiting the area with quick, interval-based training that gets you in and out in 40 minutes. Book utilizing Class Pass, as it’s only a five-minute walk from the SLS and several other Brickell hotels.
Pura Vida is my favorite spot to grab a smoothie, breakfast or lunch, with some of the largest croissants I have ever seen. I usually get a power bowl or smoothie made from fresh, organic ingredients. I was so happy to see it was only three minutes on foot from the hotel.
Sexy Fish is another quick walk and one of the hottest places in Brickell. Make a reservation on Open Table days or weeks in advance. For something a little more low-key, try Pubbelly Sushi, located in the Brickell City Center just a few steps down South Miami Avenue.
Brickell alone has so much life, you won’t feel obligated to take the bridge to South Beach. However, Wynwood and Bayfront Park are great options if you like exploring more of Miami. The FTX Arena is where you watch Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro dominate the court during a Miami Heat game.
Miami is my favorite city, and Brickell is my neighborhood preference.
