As a typical American with limited vacation days, I like to stretch out my vacation through extensive planning in advance and sporadic, often unprovoked reminiscing in the days, weeks and even years following my trip. As such, over the holiday weekend I found myself starting conversations with, “this time last year.” In fact, this time last year I was in Paris! It was my very first trip to the City of Light, in April no less. The flowers were in bloom; the sun was shining; and I spent the week sightseeing, eating amazing food and drinking great wine.

Ask me what I love about travel and our conversation may never end. What I love in travel I seek out in my everyday life. My desire to return to Paris brought me to Bistrot la Minette in my home city of Philadelphia. Starting with a glass of Kir Royale and ordering by recommendation of the expert waitstaff, I transcended time and space, returning to my wonderful trip. The food and ambience are a small taste of France, right here in Philadelphia.

I plan to return to Bistrot la Minette as the temperatures warm to take advantage of its award-winning outdoor seating and take in one of its French Movies Under the Stars. If you are in the area, I hope you do, too!
