Philadelphia has been my bustling playground lately, offering a delightful mix of urban exploration, culinary delights and meaningful moments. Join me as I recount the highlights of my recent adventures in the City of Brotherly Love.
My journey began with cool rooftop views of Philadelphia’s skyline from Attico, where the city’s vibrant energy truly comes alive. Watching the sunset hues blend over iconic landmarks was an unforgettable experience. Down on South Street, eclectic vibes and colorful murals provided the perfect backdrop for leisurely strolls and spontaneous discoveries as we introduced the city to our friends.
No visit to Philly is complete without indulging in its diverse culinary scene. A standout treat was the empanada donut from Federal Donuts — a savory-sweet masterpiece that tantalized my taste buds. The blend of flavors and textures left me craving more and added a unique twist to my gastronomic adventures. Never did I think a donut could taste like a guava and cheese empanada; the mascarpone-to-guava ratio was just delightful.
Evenings spent with friends were filled with laughter and camaraderie, especially during our late-night game sessions at home. Whether battling it out over board games or teaming up for video game challenges, these moments created lasting memories and strengthened our bonds.
By now you should know weekend farmers markets are one of my favorite things to do in spring and summer. So on a tranquil Sunday morning, I immersed my friends in the community spirit at Chestnut Hill’s bustling market. Local artisans showcased their crafts, from handmade jewelry to artisanal foods, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with live music and friendly chatter. It was a perfect escape from the city’s summer heat.
Amidst the excitement of exploring Philly, we embarked on the quest for the perfect wedding venue — a journey filled with anticipation and dreams for the future. Each venue visit brought its own charm and possibilities, adding to the anticipation of what lies ahead. I must say, the decision to pivot from a destination wedding to a local one has made this city feel more like home. I might not be a “Philly girl” yet, but this city is growing on me.

Sep 6, 2024Escape to Tahiti for a Captivating Island-Hopping Cruise
The 118 islands of French Polynesia reveal themselves layer by fascinating layer, with the spirit of mana (vital force) linking them all the way from Tahiti to the remote reaches of the Marquesas. This is part of the world best savored on a journey that dives as deep into culture as natural beauty, both above and below the water’s surface. A cruise makes it easy to cover a lot of ground while unpacking just once (and sneaking in some work done in comfort, too, during at-sea days). And cruising offers particular appeal within this semi-autonomous French territory sprawling across nearly 2 million square miles of ocean and covering five archipelagos.

Sep 4, 2024The Shelbourne Review
Facing the vast St. Stephen’s Green in the heart of Dublin sits the iconic and historic The Shelbourne. Few hotels master the perfect blend of history and luxury, but The Shelbourne gets it right. The site of the signing of the Irish Constitution in 1922 granting the Republic of Ireland its freedom from England, The Shelbourne has hosted its fair share of notable figures, from Michael Collins to Princess Grace Kelly to John Ford, the latter of which was the name of my suite.
