Last weekend, instead of heading down the shore like everyone else does for Memorial Day Weekend, my dad and I decided to head into the city. I grew up in Philadelphia for a large chunk of my childhood and always jump at the chance to visit.
My dad likes to call himself “a theater connoisseur.” He buys show tickets by the season, like you would for your favorite sport. I don’t mind, though; personally I find sports games kind of boring to watch.
My favorite part about these trips is the food. My dad always finds a restaurant with amazing food and amusing décor. For this show we had dinner at Double Knot, and it was absolutely delicious.
Once we finished, we walked through town until it was time to head to the theater. The show was Hairspray at the Academy of Music. It was fantastic. Each actor and actress almost perfectly resembled the character they were playing. The next show we are going to see is Dear Evan Hansen. My dad got four different tickets for four different nights. Can you tell it is his favorite one?

How far would you travel in pursuit of inner peace? Though the wellness industry has grown in popularity for quite a while, he business skyrocketed post-pandemic, with more and more travelers booking yoga retreats in the name of serenity, spirituality and, of course, self-care. When I decided it was zen I sought, I figured I should travel to its very birthplace: India. Though the idea of traveling in India initially felt more exciting than relaxing, I found the contrast between the bustling activity outside and the quiet reflection of my yoga practice to be an intoxicating combination.
