One of the most interesting architectural cities in the United States includes Lake Michigan, is considered a port city, has incredible restaurants and culture, intriguing history, a beautiful skyline, Wrigley Field (now I just gave it away), an amazing airport and so much more!
Chicago! I recently had the good fortune to visit Chicago with a few colleagues, and while it wasn’t during the Polar Vortex, it was still quite brisk. I marveled at the beauty of the city during the cold month of January and realized what an amazing place it is to be no matter the time of year.
I think for most of us, we think of visiting Chicago during the warmer months of summer, sailing on Lake Michigan, enjoying the restaurants on Rush Street and watching some baseball at Wrigley Field. There seems to be an exciting transformation going through Chicago right now, with more and more people moving into the city (the Chicago Tribune Building will now host condominiums), more businesses opening their doors and many new restaurants opening all over town.
We were fortunate to stay at The Langham, Chicago, which offers lovely rooms, incredible views, a tasty restaurant and wonderful hospitality. We had an amazing dinner at hot spot BLVD in the city’s West Loop. BLVD has incredible lighting, a lovely staircase and a 1930s-vibe bar. It should be on your must-visit list!
So next time you think about the Windy City, remember, there’s a whole lot more!
See you at the next stop!

Dec 18, 2024Villa Petriolo Review
Tucked in the heart of Tuscany near the birthplace of da Vinci, Villa Petriolo is a luxurious countryside escape that blends historic restoration with modern elegance. A Small Luxury Hotels of the World member, the estate’s meticulous revival of a centuries-old villa and its surrounding properties transformed it into a haven of elegant design, hyperlocal cuisine and postcard-worthy moments. The seamless integration of its organic, regenerative agriculture revival, mimicking the once-bustling production of the property, influences its award-winning cuisine, wine production, spa products and amenities found throughout. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a single detail here that doesn’t speak to Villa Petriolo’s dedication to both the authentic past and hopeful future.
