Flying with Asiana

by Carly Allen

Apr 17, 2018

I have flown Asiana Airlines a few time while traveling through Asia but never directly from the States until now. Last week I took Asiana’s nonstop Los Angeles to Incheon flight aboard their A380 business class and was impressed. Their business class is a 1-2-1 configuration with cream colors that are a bit bland, but with lie-flat seats and decent entertainment, it was a nice arrangement. The flight attendants were very attentive but not overwhelming, as they kept me supplied with hot green tea throughout the 12 hours of flying, as I don’t sleep well on planes (very convenient for how much I travel!).

Dinner service was quick, and I chose the Korean dishes that were brought out in several waves, which I always love as it makes the dinner service a true experience. I enjoyed the finely sliced pork and fluffy white rice rolled up in fresh greens and sauces and salt. My mango cheesecake was excellent for dessert, and I topped it off with a small glass of port.

The flight was easy and marked a great kick-off to my business trip.

Asiana’s new A350s will be coming to the United States very soon, and I am looking forward to trying it out on my next trip to Seoul!

Villa Petriolo Review

Tucked in the heart of Tuscany near the birthplace of da Vinci, Villa Petriolo is a luxurious countryside escape that blends historic restoration with modern elegance. A Small Luxury Hotels of the World member, the estate’s meticulous revival of a centuries-old villa and its surrounding properties transformed it into a haven of elegant design, hyperlocal cuisine and postcard-worthy moments. The seamless integration of its organic, regenerative agriculture revival, mimicking the once-bustling production of the property, influences its award-winning cuisine, wine production, spa products and amenities found throughout. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a single detail here that doesn’t speak to Villa Petriolo’s dedication to both the authentic past and hopeful future.
