Big names are heading to Florida’s Historic Coast this autumn, when St. Augustine and St. Johns County host the Sing Out Loud Festival from Sept. 8 to Oct. 1. The impressive line-up of performers includes headliners Mumford & Sons, The Black Keys, Maggie Rogers, Yonder Mountain String Band and Lord Huron.
Founded in 2016, the festival kicks off with Free Local Showcases — concerts and performances offered every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the event, featuring the best of the region’s musical and comedy offerings at area venues like The Beacon Listening Room, Shanghai Nobby’s, Colonial Oak Music Park, Dog Rose Brewing Co. and Lightner Museum.
On Sept. 16, the festival introduces Lincolnville Porch Fest, to be held in one of the city’s most culturally significant neighborhoods. Twenty-five local acts perform on five porches from noon to 5 p.m., wrapping up with an evening event at Colonial Oak Music Park.
Live music and artisan shopping are the theme for the St. Augustine Amphitheatre Night Market on Sept. 19. From 5 to 9 p.m., festival attendees are invited to a free event that includes local food truck and booths featuring handmade arts, crafts and other items.
Special events include the Sept. 22 Francis Field Showcase, when Grammy Award-winning rock duo The Black Keys and indie faves Lord Huron take to the stage. On Sept. 23, British folk rockers Mumford & Sons entertain crowds, along with additional performances by Elle King, Amos Lee and S.G. Goodman.
There’s also the St. Augustine Record Fair on Sept. 24. Shop for limited-edition vinyl, 1990s-era tour posters, vintage rock t-shirts and other collectibles at St. Augustine Amphitheatre. From Sept. 29 through Oct. 1, the St. Augustine Songwriters Festival includes country songwriters performing at local venues including Trade Winds Lounge, Prohibition Kitchen and St. Augustine Distillery.
