After recently being awarded The World’s Best Low-Cost Long-Haul Airline by Skytrax, Norwegian wins again, as it was just named Best Budget Bougie Experience by Fodor’s Travel Awards. The inaugural awards from Fodor’s Travel were decided by Fodor’s editorial team of frequent travelers.
Norwegian is no novice to the award scene, as this is the budget airline’s third award this month. With accolades like Europe’s Leading Low-Cost Airline 2019 in the World Travel Awards, this Best Budget Bougie Experience makes Norwegian one of the world’s most awarded low-cost airlines.
Other recent awards include Most Fuel-Efficient Airline on Transatlantic Routes, granted by the International Council on Clean Transportation; Value Airline of the Year by Air Transport World; Favorite Budget Airline by Trazee Travel in 2018; Best Low Cost Carrier Europe at the Passenger Choice Awards; and Airline Loyalty Program of the Year Europe and Africa at the Freddie Awards.
Adding another accolade to the list, Norwegian is now the first low-cost carrier to include free WiFi on intercontinental flights. This feature, gate-to-gate Wi-Fi, launched earlier this month and grants travelers connectivity on the ground and in the skies while flying the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This concept is just the start, as more than 50 percent of Norwegian’s 787-9 Dreamliner fleet is expected to offer the same free WiFi connectivity by 2020.
