Banyan Tree Group recently announced the signing of Banyan Tree Veya Bacalar, the group’s sixth location in Mexico and third in the Yucatán Region, slated to open in early 2025. The property marks the latest addition to the group’s growing portfolio. Known for its crystal-clear waters, Bacalar serves as the perfect setting for the new property and the group’s newly launched Veya brand.
Banyan Tree Veya Bacalar will feature 35 villas and five residences, as well as dining concepts overlooking more than 100 yards of Bacalar Lagoon’s water. The property’s specialty restaurant will offer guests dining over the lake, a first for the region. In addition to an expansive main pool, the hotel will also have gear available in the lakeside palapa for kayaking and paddleboarding experiences.

Wellness programs curated by wellbeing consultants will incorporate Veya’s mission into the different services and treatments at the property. Traditional spa services, bespoke programs with an emphasis on embodiment therapies and more will be available to guests. In reconnecting guests with nature and their own wellbeing, Veya covers a range of multidisciplinary modalities including sleep, dietary awareness, physical vitality and harmony with nature.
