The Maybourne Riviera invited renowned architect André Fu to design one of its floors, which will be dedicated to wellbeing and wellness. The hotel, overlooking the coastline of the French Riviera, wanted an elevated wellbeing section to accompany its luxurious rooms.

André Fu’s commission comprises a design of the hotel’s signature spa, including seven treatment rooms, a beauty and hair salon, specialist consultation rooms, a steam room and sauna. A floor of guestrooms and suites also designed by André Fu adjoins the spa, creating a world solely dedicated to wellness.

Bringing the calming nature of the coastline and ocean into the different spaces, André Fu juxtaposes the shapes and textures of the rocks outside of the hotel with the smooth, curved walls. The color palette mostly sees pristine white integrated throughout to convey an atmosphere of cleanliness.

The white is accented with mineral blue and dusty olive green to reflect the color of the sea, as well as hints of polished rose gold and peach terrazzo to mimic the warm colors of sunset. Fresh olive trees adorn the spa, and each treatment room boasts views of the Riviera.
