American Queen Voyages announced its first-ever season of Alaskan expedition cruises. Travelers will explore remote villages of Alaska, including the Inside Passage, for an immersive Alaskan experience. Two sailings are currently available: Alaska Insider and Authentic Alaska.

The expedition cruises take place aboard the new Ocean Victory ship. Led by an experienced expeditions team, the cruises offer guests an up-close view of the Alaskan wilderness. Participate in unique experiences during your trip. Take part in whale tracking and learn how whales communicate. Acoustic ecologist Dr. Michelle Fournet, the leading expert in the communication of North Pacific humpback whales, leads this experience. Explore Alaska’s icy waters on a double sea kayak with the shore excursion team.
Other highlights of the trip include a visit to the Alaskan village of Petersburg, a naturalist-led tour of Frederick Sound, a visit to Tlingit Tribal House, an exploration of the Stikine River and samplings of Alaskan cuisine. Chef Regina Charboneau joins Ocean Victory on its maiden voyage, where she will highlight local cuisine through onboard cooking demonstrations and discussions.

The 13-day Alaska Insider travels from Sitka, Alaska, to Vancouver, Washington, while the 12-day Authentic Alaska travels from Vancouver to Sitka. The expedition cruise ship serves 186 guests. Sailings take place May–September.
