A new year means a new menu, at least for American Airlines’ domestic flights. The airline launched a new in-flight food menu for flights within the United States.

The menu, which features input from chefs at Zoës Kitchen, began service in all seating classes Dec. 1. Zoës specializes in Mediterranean cuisine through brick-and-mortar locations, catering and delivery services.

The collaboration presents a cohesive menu of fresh and simple food that caters to all palates with enhanced flavor for taste buds usually dulled at 30,000 feet. For breakfast, passengers can choose a breakfast sandwich with turkey bacon, egg slices and Calabrian pepper aioli on a waffle brioche bun, or a continental breakfast box that includes a Belgian waffle, hazelnut spread and fresh berries.

Sandwiches and wraps form the lunch menu, with ingredients like Mediterranean slaw, Manchego cheese, feta spreads and hummus, all served with a chocolate chip cookie. For a lighter option, passengers can choose the fruit and cheese platter.

All dishes must be pre-ordered and paid for online, with prices ranging from $8.99 for the fruit and cheese plate to $10 for a sandwich or wrap.
