American Airlines launched a daily non-stop service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Beijing (PEK), marking the carrier’s third non-stop route to the Chinese capital and the 15^th route between the United States and the Asia Pacific region.

Since 2010, American served Beijing from Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and, in 2015, added service from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW).

“American is proud to be the only U.S.-based carrier to offer service between Los Angeles and Beijing,” said Jim Butler, senior vice president – international and cargo, American Airlines. “The new route enhances our expanding Asia Pacific network by providing more options for business and leisure travelers as well as cargo customers looking to connect shipments on American’s network to Latin America and other destinations in the U.S.”

The new flight departs Los Angeles at 10:55 a.m., arriving in Beijing at 4:20 p.m. the next day. The return flight departs Beijing at 6:30 p.m., arriving in Los Angeles at 3:15 p.m.

The airline’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner will operate the route with 28 fully lie-flat seats with direct-aisle access in business class.
