Alila, Hyatt’s boutique luxury hotels and beach resorts brand, makes its entrance into China with the opening of Alila Shanghai. Situated in the city’s Jing’an District, Alila Shanghai boasts 186 guestrooms, including 94 suites. Spacious, entry-level rooms span 419 square feet and include generous lounge space, a walk-in wardrobe, bar nook and dressing table area. There’s even a 37th-floor penthouse suite with unbeatable city views.

The new property provides guests with four innovative bars and restaurants helmed by executive chef Chuck Xing. Adhering to farm-to-table philosophy, all restaurants offer fresh, seasonal and sustainable local produce, complete with accompanying wine lists with selections from boutique vintners. 500 Weihai Road, the hotel’s flagship Chinese restaurant, is led by Chef de Cuisine Scott Bao, formerly of Michelin-recommended 28 Hubin Road, focusing on seafood. Garden Pavilion, meanwhile, is the hotel’s all-day dining space, built around a Japanese maple tree.
Guests can slow down and indulge in afternoon tea at Chayan @ 5th, while Secret Roof promises exceptional cocktails and light snacks with sunset views amidst open-air terraces.

Alila Shanghai is also home to Spa Alila, complete with five treatment rooms, a Turkish bath, soothing relaxation space, individual yoga room, daily fitness facilities and unique programming. Meeting and event space spans more than 3,000 square feet.
